Frequently Asked Questions
What does a mobile phone signal booster do?
It’s a device that boosts your current weak 2G 3G 4G AND 5G signals and then delivers the stronger signal to your cell phone.
How does it work?
- Outside Antenna: Pulls in the existing signal from the cell tower and sends it to the amplifier.
- Amplifier: Boosts that signal multiple times and sends it to the inside antenna.
- Inside Antenna: Broadcasts the boosted signal to the area in need.
Will this work with my cell phone?
Yes. Cell phone signal boosters work with ALL mobile phones that use any variation of 3G or 4G and service.
Does this work with my service provider?
Yes. Our boosters work with all major North American carriers in Ireland (Vodafone,Eir, Three,Lyca,Tesco,48 Mobile, Clear Mobile, sky and Virgin.). For a more thorough list please email us at [email protected]
What is my cell phone carrier’s frequency?
For a complete explanation of frequencies and a simple chart, see our Frequencies by Provider article.
What type of signal boosters are there?
Cell phone signal boosters generally come in two categories: for buildings such as homes and offices and for vehicles such as cars, Trucks and boats.
Is there a signal booster for my particular need?
Absolutely.
Signal boosters for homes and offices boost 3G & 4G LTE and 5G signals inside the building. Although you may get some coverage outside the building, they are not designed for this purpose. They are generally fixed installations and powerful performers.
Signal boosters for cars, trucks, RVs, and boats boost 3G & 4G LTE and 5G signals inside your vehicle (usually a range of 5-8 feet). Some units can be used indoors with additional accessory kits.
Whether you’re looking for something affordable, commercial-grade, or custom, we provide a variety of solutions. Start with our Buyer’s Guide to get our best recommendations.
Do I need a data connection for the booster to work?
No, you don’t need an internet connection, but you do need an existing cell phone signal. If there is no existing signal, then you’re in a no service dead zone, meaning the amplifier cannot boost what isn’t there.
